Testimonials

After reading 'The China Study', on a recommendation from a client who is a dentist, I was immediately enthralled and impacted by
the science presented and began to transition to plant-based foods. Being hungry for more info as fast as possible, I saw the info
about the online course in the book, called and signed up right away. The information in the course has had a powerful impact on my life, I'm seeing results, and sharing with others. This is the truth I've been wanting so badly. Rebecca, our instructor, is very passionate and encouraging. She made the online experience powerful for me and was especially helpful with this being my first online course. I'm ready for the rest of the continuum! Bring it on and let's impact the planet."

Today at my store I processed a prescription for a nurse who works in cardiology at a local hospital. As we talked, she disclosed her doctor's dissatisfaction with her "numbers". I shared with her the way to better health (and numbers). She was very grateful and recalled from her nursing school days how she was given only only a few days instruction in nutrition. I started her back to a healthy lifestyle of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and beans. I made her promise to "kick" the meat and dairy habit!!!!

I feel truly privileged to be a part of this course at a time when we can use the knowledge to make a real difference in the world. Dr. Campbell's message is critical to our health, and the evidence presented in the course cannot be ignored. The information is easy to understand and communicate, my fellow students are brimming with enthusiasm, and our instructor is incredibly supportive. I can't wait for the next module.

While walking on the beach one day I ran into a friend of mine and she mentioned that she was now a vegan.  The reason why she had become a vegan was because of the book, The China Study by T. Colin Campbell.  She suggested I read it and I did.  I was impressed and fasinated by the book.  On the last page there was an announcement of the upcoming classes on plant-based nutrition based on the book, The China Study. I enrolled.

I have recently finished the first course.  I believe that the evidence is irrefutable that a plant based life style is the way to avoid several devastating diseases that include cancer, heart disease and obesity to name a few.
Because of the book and the course along with Dr. Campbell's excellent lectures, I have been on a plant based diet for the past three months.  I have lost weight (I needed to lose 10 lbs and have done that) have an upbeat attitude toward our troubled world and plan on living this life style for whatever time I have left on this planet.  It simply makes sense. Because of these courses and a background I have as an Executive Director of a full facility YMCA I have the opportunity to work with cancer patients and their eating habits.

This is such a rare and crucial certification whose time has finally come and there could be nothing more perfect than to have it originate from T. Colin Campbell. I have been very successful teaching plant based nutrition at Yavapai College in Prescott, AZ since January 2006 and getting certified from Cornell University has made a great impact on my classes and my students. Thank you Professor Campbell for taking the time and energy to design this one of a kind program. The troops are most definitely getting organized and so much of that is because of you.
With Deep Respect,

Cathy Karpinski

WOW....very insightful, after taking the course on "Plant Based Nutrition", I am
very mindful of what I eat, and when I am in the supermarket, I would read the packaging to see what the content is.  If nothing else, it opens up a whole new world, for the things we eat.

I loved the vast variety of information provided in this class obtained from the lectures themselves, the discussion boards and from you, the instructor!
Every day I couldn't wait to sign on to my computer to do the lectures, quizzes and join in the discussion boards! The class kept my interest because it was challenging and made me think. Even though I am already in the nutrition field I learned new information about the politics of food and how it affects the health of all Americans. I will spread this information to peers, medical team members and patients at my place of employment as well as passing it on to friends and family.

Dr. Campbell's research and teachings, founded in solid science, have opened my eyes. I previously considered coronary artery disease to be a terminal illness on par with cancer. The data presented here has demonstrated that this process can not only be arrested, but in some cases reversed. I have personally adopted Dr. Campbell's dietary recommendations and am now passing the information from these studies on to my patients. Previously, after helping patients thru their acute medical crisis, my best hope and advice was to modify their risk factors and hope for the best. I can now encourage them to adopt this regimen with a good prospect of having a significant impact on the course of their disease process. I am enthusiastically looking forward to the next two sections of the course.

As a plant-based nutrition and cooking instructor for The Cancer Project, I found the Certificate in Plant-Based Nutrition to be a wonderful program. Theknowledge I gained from the program helped me understand on a molecular level how cancer forms in the body, how it reproduces and what we can do to stop it. Having that deeper understanding of the process helps me explain it to my students. And once they foster a true understanding of the process, they are much more likely to adjust to healthier eating habits. Understanding the process is more powerful than referring to obscure studies that may or may not point to cancer growth - it is definitive. Skepticism runs high when promoting a plant-based diet, so this program has also brought me much needed credibility.

Scholarships

A very limited number of scholarships are available for the online courses. The scholarship committee meets monthly to select scholarship candidates, based on financial need and future plans for outreach using the information learned in the courses.

Please be aware that TCCF receives hundreds of applications per month and we have only a few enrollment spots to award for scholarships. While we would like to give every applicant a scholarship, it is not possible. We also have a very limited staff, and the staff at the main office who answer the phone are not involved in scholarship selection, so cannot speak to questions on specific applications.

Because of the high volume of very deserving applicants and limited number of scholarship spots, TCCF does not typically award scholarships to individuals who are seeking the scholarship to facilitate a career change.

To apply, please complete our scholarship application and email to scholarships(at)tcolincampbell.org. You will receive an autoreply that your scholarship application has been received. All applications are read and reviewed on a monthly basis. Candidates will be contacted if they are being awarded a scholarship. If you do not receive further communication from the scholarship committee by the 10th of the month following your submission, please assume you have not been selected. We encourage you to reapply in the following month.

Introducing medical professionals and the public to the vastly underestimated ability of properly executed nutrition to maintain health and prevent disease.

Plant-Based Nutrition represents a forward-looking view of nutrition that Dr. Campbell developed during his more than 40 years experience in experimental research and 20 years in public policy.  The certificate program presents a different paradigm, considering the topic of nutrition both as a science and as a component of the practice of medicine.  It is an expansion of NS 200 a successful Cornell course approved by the Department of Nutritional Science and offered for 7 years.
