How is your health?
Excellent Now! I am genetically predisposed to high triglycerides (1800+, yes that is 1800!), high cholestrol (250+) and high blood pressure (140/90)it has been a struggle to control my bloods and weight since I was 18 years old. My wife and I have researched every diet and found that with a plant based diet restricting all added fats we were able to get all of my bloods into a healthy range in just 30 days. I am a walking testimony that eating this way can change your health. At 43, I feel better and have more energy than I did at 18 years old.
What kind of value do you place on plant-based nutrition?
It is the only way. I highly recommend it to all of my patients. We want to offer patients another alternative to being medicated for the rest of their lives and having to live with the side-effects of those medications. A plant based diet is the way to reverse diabetes, heart disease, cholestrol and reduce their risk for many types of cancers.
How do you incorporate plant-based nutrition in your practice?
I talk to my patients about how dropping all meat, poultry and severely limiting eggs, dairy, fish and oils from my diet has improved my health. Then we challenge them to make 3 days a week completely vegetarian days. After a few weeks, they are incorporating more and more vegetarian days into their week because they are losing weight and feeling great. We provide our favorite recipes as handouts and teach patients about cooking without added fats.
How has plant-based nutrition improved the quality of care that you are able to deliver?
Back pain and knee pain is directly linked to carrying too much weight on your body. If I can get my patients to lose weight, their back and neck pain improves along with the rest of their health. They have a more energy to start exercising, a positive attitude and greater self esteem. It is a win-win outcome.

Homeopathic medicine is gentle, safe and effective and is the medicine for the 21st century. It is the natural alternative in medicine which people will eventually realise gives the only cure for disease! How do you incorporate plant-based nutrition in your practice?
I offer all my patients the opportunity to transform their current and future health by adopting diets based on plant nutrition. As a medical investigator I propose clinical studies which monitor patients who maintain plant-based diets.
How has plant-based nutrition improved the quality of care that you are able to deliver?
Along with practicing daily physical fitness, no other single intervention can provide the magnitude of health benefits as maintaining a plant-based diet. Without a prescription for a plant-based diet my preventive disease strategy for patients would be non-existent.
Primary Care, weight loss, nutritional consulting, improving skin and all conditions by analyzing diet and establishing a nutritional plan to address deficiencies. Encourage the elimination of animal products, assist patients in this transition. Also a proud member of Physician's Committee for Responsible Medicine and the Institute for Functional Medicine. I am a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. We practice independently in WA state, just as an MD primary care provider does. (I didn't see a category for Nurse Practitioners!-we are trained to take a holistic approach rather than reductionist approach to the patient's care). I do not eat animal products, and have been an avid cook since I can remember. My favorite past time is trying new vegan recipes! Sharing these with my patients is one of the ways I bridge the gap between what I recommend, and what they do. My recipes are simple, inexpensive, and tasty. It is of utmost importance to me that I "walk the talk". I eat simple, plant-based foods and get exercise, mainly yoga. My patients appreciate this approach and many saying they have been looking for a practitioner like myself for a long time.. someone that wants to get to the core of prevention and not simply spend five minutes with the patient then prescribe medication. As there is not a category for ARNP (adv. reg. nurse practitioner) I selected ND, as I most closely resemble this title in my practice. Although I have a much wider scope of practice as an ARNP than an ND does. Thank you for this website. I googled TCC after completing the China Study book and was pleasantly surprised to find this! It's always a delight to find others who share the same values and practice principles.
How is your health?
Excellent. I was also very fortunate to be raised by parents who supplied most of our vegetables from their organic garden, and served a predominantly plant based diet.
What kind of value do you place on plant-based nutrition?
It is the core of my being. Not only for health reasons, but it is my way of "voting" with my food dollars for change...in the environment, and to promote humane conditions for animals raised in deplorable conditions and suffering during life slaughter.
How do you incorporate plant-based nutrition in your practice?
Please see above initial information block.
How has plant-based nutrition improved the quality of care that you are able to deliver?
Patients love it when they lose the fat around the middle, and elsewhere. They report feeling lighter, and better. Skin conditions improve. Especially when patients with acne completely cut dairy from their diet.
I am a certified family nurse practitioner. I provide primary family health care across the life span, with special interest in lifestyle medicine and plant based nutrition.

How is your health?
I am healthy and well after taking control of lupus with a vegetable-based lifestyle! As a result, I have been able to drastically eliminate inflammation in my body and I have simultaneously reduced my risk of developing diseases by increasing phytochemicals in my diet, while reducing my cholesterol values to protective levels. I am off daily medication, with significantly decreased muscle, joint and pleural pain, arthritis, headaches, congestion, fatigue, infections, mouth ulcers, hair loss, and malaise. I am able to exercise regularly, and I have regained a fulfilling, quality life.
What kind of value do you place on plant-based nutrition?
Plant-based, and more specifically, vegetable-based, nutrition is the foundation of excellent health and therefore is the guiding principle of my practice. I emphasize using nutrition to take control of one's health, instead of relying on medicines with risky side effects.
How do you incorporate plant-based nutrition in your practice?
I intend to educate others how to apply these plant-based principles to their own lives to achieve superior health, to prevent disease, to avoid medical bills, and to relish their golden years in a nation where illnesses of affluence are all too common. Continuous guidance and education is available to provide individuals with the skills and nutritional wisdom needed to live healthy, independent, and productive lives.
How has plant-based nutrition improved the quality of care that you are able to deliver?
I have gained valuable insight and experience as a health care provider who has battled with disease and grown all too familiar with the medical challenges patients endure. Not only has plant-based nutrition significantly improved my quality of life, but it has also enhanced my nutritional knowledge and confidence as a professional. As a result, I've facilitated positive, permanent health outcomes for individuals seeking help.
Nutrition education and support for those seeking to improve their health through: weight management, eating disorders & challenges, general nutrition, nutritional analysis, medical nutrition therapy, peak performance & endurance, pre-natal health, women's health, and holistic body care.
One Bite Wellness specializes helping people heal their digestive issues (celiac, IBS, and more), and those with Parkinson's Disease, weight issues - all with the help of a plant-based diet.
How is your health?
Very good! I have overcome many health issues in my past - recurrent infections, acne, rosacea, weight gain, feeling lethargic, digestive issues relating to gluten. My background in dietetics has been wonderfully supplemented by further studies with T. Colin Campbell's Plant-Based Nutrition courses, and through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. My approach is holistic and thorough.
What kind of value do you place on plant-based nutrition?
A tremendous amount - I had been vegetarian for many years before moving towards a plant-based diet and found that drastically reducing my intake of animal protein led to greater energy levels, a feeling of well-being, weight loss without intention, better digestion, and more radiant skin.
Unlike animal proteins, plant-based proteins provide fiber, no cholesterol, and more antioxidants (not to mention the lack of hormones in plants that are typically injected into animals).
How do you incorporate plant-based nutrition in your practice?
In my practice, I educate clients about the importance and the benefits of the plant-based diet. I encourage and support them in learning how to prepare more vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, and whole grains - and then I enjoy seeing them improve their health!
How has plant-based nutrition improved the quality of care that you are able to deliver?
Most of my clients had started their nutrition sessions with being animal-protein lovers. After nutrition education and supporting them in making healthier choices, almost all of them have switched over to a primarily plant-based diet and have reaped the rewards. We discuss how to cook greens (swisschard, kale, bok choy, collards), whole grains (amaranth, quinoa, etc) and how to make delicious meals that their families love. I am thrilled with the changes they have made and the goals they have reached; much credit goes to the plant-based diet!
